Give Back To Your Local Community
The Wellington Altrusa club will be holding a no-obligation free information evening on Monday, 18 June.
Light refreshments will be provided.
We are also using this event as an opportunity to support Little Sprouts, an entirely volunteer-run charity who give free life-changing baby boxes to babies in need. We are asking everyone who attends to bring ONE of the following:
- An item of baby clothing suitable for a girl
- A book that can be read to a baby
- Or a bottle of baby sun-screen
These items are all in desperately short supply. Second-hand clothing and books are welcome as long as they are in good condition.
We will have a speaker from Little Sprouts to tell us more about the charity.
Please meet in the cafe of BNZ at 94 Featherston St (opposite the Z petrol station) at 5.45 with the meeting to start from 6pm. The cafe is through the class doors just up the stairs or the ramp.
Altrusa is an international non-profit organization, with members from varying occupations and lifestyles, all sharing an interest in community service and enjoying the friendship, fun and satisfaction that comes from working together for the benefit of others.
Each club develops a programme that is tailored to local needs, undertaking a variety of service, literacy and fundraising projects each year. We meet twice a month on a Monday night so joining does not require a huge time commitment.
